THE LEGACY OF IQBAL MASIH    Chapter 1: Introduction  Iqbal Masih was a Pakistani child activist who became an international  symbol in the fight against child labor and slavery. Born in 1983, Iqbal was  sold into bonded labor at the age of four and worked in a carpet factory  until he was freed with the help of an international human rights  organization. After his freedom, Iqbal became an advocate for the rights of  child laborers, traveling the world to raise awareness about the issue.  Despite death threats, Iqbal continued his activism until his tragic death in  1995 at the age of 12. His legacy continues to inspire people to fight for the  rights of children and against exploitation and slavery.
